Each walk has instructions on how to get to the starting point and almost all have a sketch map to show its route. Links tothe other parts of this list are given below:



Bukit Pulau Betong, Bukit Gemuruh, Bukit Genting and Bukit Papan

(A) Bukit Genting (south side destinations) 

These walks start alogn the access road to the recreation area off the summit of the round-the-island road. 

(B - D) Jalan Pulau Betong 

These walks start off Jalan Pulau Betong between Pekan Genting and the Chinese school before Pulau Betong.

(E) Pulau Betong 

These walks start at the point where the road bears slightly right some 200 metres before where the 403 bus turns around.

(F) Gertak Sanggul 

(G - H) Jalan Gertak Sanggul 

(I, N, O) Teluk Kumbar 

(J - L) Bayan Lepas 

These walks start along Persiaran Kelicap near L

(M) Sungai Ara (north side destinations) 

These walks start along Jalan Kenari opposite SM Sungai Ara

(M) Sungai Ara (south side destinations) 

These walks start along Jalan Kenari opposite SM Sungai Ara

I strongly recommend using buses to get to the starting points and back from the end of these walks.
I have written a short guide to Penang's Buses (updated 6th October 2022) for hikers although directions are included in individual hikes.
