While doing this research, a number of oddballs turned up including these Cockerill shunting locomotives with a vertical boiler which is enclosed within the cab. They are by no stretch of the imagination steam tram locomotives but they are curiosities which most serious students of the subject would find interesting, hence their inclusion on this separate page. Although Cockerill was the major builder, others got into the act including Cail and Five Lilles (http://www.irsociety.co.uk/Archives/8/french_vertical_boilered.htm).
