Krebet Sugar Mill |

Krebet, south-east from Malang, was a large site, in fact there were two mills within the same compound and it had an allocation of steam locomotives to match. As far as I knew, the mill had finished with steam before any visitors had had a chance to see them working, but later I was able to add four such pictures from Frank Jones from ca 1972. By the time of my one and only visit in 1986, the survivors were jammed into a shed in a manner which made photography impossible. Perhaps this was not a total disaster as many of the locomotives were in effect duplicates of others at sister mill Rejoagung at Madiun. In the light of inf0rmation received, I exchanged identities of 3 and 14 in December 2025, adding a picture of 3 at the same time. |
