James Waite visited here in October 2025:

Introduction and metre gauge locomotives

Narrow gauge locomotives

Broad gauge locomotives

I was very pleased to receive an email 'out of the blue' from Jordi Sasplugas Deu about this railway museum in Catalonia on the main line between Madrid and Barcelona which has not previously featured on this website. I passed the email to regular contributor and serial museum visitor James Waite who immediately arranged to visit during the next gala (Festa del Tren) on October 18th and 19th 2025. As can be seen it currently has 9 steam locomotives, 4 of which are operational. Jordi has sent some pictures which give an idea of the nature of the investment made.

Regular correspondents Thomas Kautzor and James Waite have provided some supplementary information and James immediately planned to visit their next gala in October 2025 and has now reporedt accordingly. In the event, it was Thomas who sent me a first report:

On the narrow gauge, AM 105 operated with one of the two 4-wheel open platform replica coaches built for FGC to operate with it on the FGC Tren del Ciment at La Pobla de Lillet, the other remaining there. The Móra la Nova museum is scheduled to receive part of the 600mm gauge collection owned privately in Catalunya in the near future.

Also present or soon expected at the museum in August 2025.:

RENFE 030 (0-6-0) 0236 / SM 13 which is owned by Associacio Amics del Ferrocarril del l'Alt Camp in Valls, who intend to restore it to operational state and keep it in the Móra la Nova Museum.

FC Mollerusa - Balaguer 030T (0-6-0T) 3-677 which has been donated by Associacio de Castellon and will be restored and operated here.

Thomas notes that Olot - Gerona 22 operates with three CGFC bogie coaches C31, C103 (both Braine-le-Comte 1923) and C-117 (Ragheno 1924) which were all part of the FGC Montserrat Classic Express (for cruise ship passengers).

Operating on the metre gauge FGC 4wDM 812 (Gmeinder/MSM Tipo P41 no, 781/1967). Its sister 811 is on display at Martorell. These were last used as works shunters at Martorell Enllac.

On the metre gauge there is the wreck of a Barcelona electric tram (AEG or Siemens) which is to be rebuilt assuming the municipality there come up with the funding, but at least for the time being it is 'safe'.

Also expected here soon are two items from the metre gauge Reus - Salou tramway currently at the latter, Thomas assumes that they will return to Salou afterwards, this museum acting as a general restoration centre.

Falcon (Loughborough, UK) 0-4-0T 3, ('PRIM') formerly a tram locomotive.

4 wheel coach A2

Falcon coach C21 from the Castellar de N'Hug collection now owned by the Móra la Nova museum which will presumably take up residence here. Currently it is 'just a wreck'.

Finally there are 5 ex-RENFE coaches part of a batch restored for FCC (Cuba) but which were never actually exported and ended up stored in Canfranc instead.
