Argentine Steam 2011 Part 2

This is the second part of Fabrice Lanou's 2011 visit. Click here for the first part which covers the Esquel Railway.

April 20th

We took a flight from Buenos Aires to San Carlos de Bariloche and then rented a car.

In the metal shed in Bariloche railway station, we saw a broad gauge steam locomotive probably North British 2-8-0 # 121 (1912). Until 2 or 3 years ago this was running with a special train from Bariloche to Perito Moreno on the Ingeniero Jacobacci line. Now, some lengths of rail are missing preventing the locomotive going out.

April 21st to 23rd

We visited the Esquel Railway - see the other part of this report.
