Notes - India, Round 2 |
|
|
Terry Case writes about his travels for steam. Further tales will follow from time to time covering more of Australia, India, South Africa, Indonesia and Pakistan. Click here for the Case Notes Index, which includes many earlier Indian tales. The pictures of 791 were taken on 26th December 1993 and those of 805 a day later. 791 passes graves as it approaches “Agony Point”
805 passes more graves as it works the train towards the spiral...
...and, shortly after, exits the spiral
Later 805 passes a small wayside shrine as it climbs to Kurseong.
Car drivers and loco drivers alike have a restricted view on a sharp bend.
Having passed wayside shrines 791 now passes some toilets:
805 passing Kurseong shed
and terminates its train at Kurseong.
Paid staff were not needed to clear the ash pan. A poor barefooted widow was grateful for the opportunity.
