Wringinanom Sugar Mill |

I always considered Wringinanom to be a delightful shambles whereby both the railway and its locomotives were held together with baling wire (and sticky tape). Effectively steam finished at the end of the 2000 season when diesels arrived here transferred after De Maas closed. Daylight trains were always a possibility with the bonus that the empties tended to go out smokebox first. Amazingly, at the time of compilation the mill and its field lines remain in use but derailments are endemic and visitors for the necessarily diesel hauled trains should be prepared for the possibility of a long walk or a late return to base. Click here for a video of the actual mill in operation. |
