Sumberharjo Sugar Mill
(700mm gauge)

This was an isolated mill normally approached by a side road from the south side of Pemalang and the poor road system in the area was probably responsible for the field lines lasting longer than those of any other mill in the area. The mill had several modern diesels but they never seemed quite enough to displace the steam fleet completely. The mill is reported to have 'closed in 2016', I'm not sure whether it milled that year but it has since officially become a museum.9 has now been sent to the railway museum Stoomtram Katwijk - Leiden in the Netherlands.

Click here for a video of the actual mill in operation.
