Sudhono Sugar Mill

Sudhono was to the north of the Madiun - Solo main line and together with its narrower gauge, this left it out of the mainstream. Its fields were served mainly by lines which ran along the main road but as with the other mills in the area, they had succumbed by the time visitors for steam turned their attention to the sugar mills. All was not lost because road deliveries made a complete anti-clockwise circuit of the mill, changing locomotives about half way where there was a storage yard. This ensured that there were photographic opportunities just about all day.
