Sindanglaut Sugar Mill
(720mm gauge)

Most of the Sindanglaut field system was accessible by all weather tracks and I would regularly follow locomotives out to the fields after a shift change around 15.00. Despite the sun setting significantly later here than further east, most of the residual daylight was spent assembling trains which would then leave just before or after sunset. I got some marvellous silhouettes here! The yard itself was not particularly photogenic and  towards the end trucks were delivering directly to the mill rather than use the gantries. The mill did not work in 2020 but worked again in 2021.

The mill system was an unusual 720mm gauge. which it shared with the nearby mill at Karangsuwung which had no steam locomotives and instead relied mainly on tractors to move its loris.
