Rendeng Sugar Mill |

Rendeng was at Kudus, east of Semarang, and few enthusiasts would have gone past it unless they were travelling east to/from the 'private mills' near Pati. Rendeng itself was 700mm gauge and the unique (in Java) 900mm gauge lines belonged to the mill at Tanjongmojo some way east which had closed long ago. By closing the field lines and using modern diesels, the mill was able to eliminate steam at a fairly early date. All these factors conspired to make the record for this mill less than complete. As far as I know the mill is still open. |
