Rejosari Sugar Mill |
||
|
Like the other mills in the area, Rejosari ran down its field lines during the 1990s. However, road deliveries were made to a yard about 0.5km north of the mill from where loaded loris were taken to the mill. This was an attractive operation, especially if 'Salak' was working. This unusual jackshaft locomotive was ideal, very powerful at low speeds. If there was enough bagasse then it would share the duties with one of the other locomotives, often one of the Luttermöllers. However, eventually it was decided to deliver cane directly to the mill area and steam was relegated to a 'bit part', its last reported regular use being in 2012.
