The mill was probably the least accessible in this area and few people came here, not least because the mill closed at the end of the 1997 season. Most of the lines lay well to the south where there were few roads beyond the secondary road that ran east from Ketanggungan Barat to Jatibarang. Trains tended to be distinctly nocturnal, probably because uniquely their loris had no vertical stanchions and instead vertical bundles of cut cane were used to hold everything together. The mill had two modern diesels but they were not sufficient to replace all the steam workings. |
