The Algerian 4-6-2+2-6-4 Garratt of streamlined class "BT" were built by Franco-Belge from 1936. They operated on the main standard gauge line between Algiers and Oran and reached speeds of 75mph with averages of 60mph. Sadly their careers were short, being out of service by the early 1950s.
