The 58 class 4-8-4 + 4-8-4 Beyer Peacock Garratts were a minor development of the similar pre-Second World War 57 class and were widely used on the lines west of Nairobi to Kisumu (in Kenya) and Kampala. 5804 was at Kisumu on 2nd January 1971. (HB)
