The 23 class 4-8-0 was built by Beyer Peacock for Tanganyika (now Tanzania), essentially the 22 class but with piston valves. The class ended their working life between Gulu and Pakwach in Uganda. 2301 is preserved on neutral territory at the Railway Museum in Nairobi, where it was photographed in January 1980. (RD) |
