The demise of the 59 class was guaranteed by the 93 class from General Electric. A tried and tested design, needing minimal maintenance, they operated well in several countries in Africa. 9326 was at Sultan Hamud on 1st December 1979, I was hitching a lift back from Voi to Nairobi in the caboose at the rear.
