The second batch of Mallets came with a range of variations. Some had the normal Walschaerts valve gear, others Caprotti. Some were superheated compounds, some were (unsuccessful) simples with saturated steam. 441.52 (OM Reggio 147/1936) at Asmara on 29th October 1966 appears to be a compound. (JW)
