Safari Steam North

SS Liemba was built by Jos. L. Meyer in Papenburg and was launched at Kigoma in 1915 as the Goetzen. Armed for the First World War, she was scuttled in 1916, raised in 1924 and re-entered service in 1927. After a major reconstruction in 1976, she was in service for passengers and cargo into the new millennium. (TB Collection)
