Jeremy Wiseman's 1963 visit to the railway was only a short one on a single day. There was just enough time to record Vulcan 4-8-2 254 'Mampong' on a passenger train in Accra station. The first of these locomotives to be equipped with a Giesl ejector was converted in about 1968. (JW)
