South Cerney Steam Rally 2022
Working Steam

This is one of a series of pages which I have uploaded to illustrate facets of steam rallies we have attended in the UK. Such events occur all over the country in the summer months, they are easily found by using your favourite search engine and may have anything between a handful of steam engines and hundreds (as at the Great Dorset Steam Fair which could probably be fairly described as having an excess of riches). Click here for the South Cerney index and click here for the overall index.

Unlike Welland which is held on farmland, the South Cerney event is held on Ministry of Defence land and this severely restricts activities.

Saw Benches

Burrell 2003/1897 "Diamond Queen" - 125 years young - was working one

Foster 12544/1910 "Independence" was working the other.

Miniature Train

A King Arthur class miniature was working along the south side of the playpen which is the best side to observe the action there for most of the day. Unfortunately, the rope which separates the two appears as a blue 'scratch' on pictures. I suppose, I could have brought a folding pair of steps.
