Stoke Row Steam Rally, (9th - 10th June, 2018)

We needed to hire a car for domestic reasons which spawned an opportunity to visit Stoke Row, a small show in rural Berkshire; a 2017 report suggested that we might find it rewarding... I'd been overdoing it in the garden in the last few weeks and I needed a gentle day's photography which is what I got because the rally is held on a large well set out site with the steam exhibits well spaced. There was a fair amount of movement and if I had been feeling more energetic I would have been able to get some nice shots later when the sun was less high and the engines were taking a run in the spacious 'play pen'. In other words, it was a complete contrast to the previous week's somewhat claustrophobic Tinkers Park event.
After a cloudy start the sun came out at midday, I cracked off the roster shots and then joined Yuehong to enjoy the country dancing, by the time it finished, there was a much larger crowd watching.
