Raj Steam - South Central Railway Gallery

The YD 2-8-2 were treated as mixed traffic locomotives for the steep Goa section from Londa Junction where 30261 (Vulcan Foundry 1928) was photographed in January 1976. Castle Rock, a short distance down, was the main shed for this line and its entire allocation consisted of YDs. (RD)
