Up the valley, all things are relative, last year's construction eyesore would not get close to this year's top three contestants:

Put simply, the competition is too strong. By and large, they are anonymous and try to cower behind large walls. Starting near the top, this monster now appears finished, 

Moving down, last year's undistinguished industrial unit has truly blossomed.

While next to the mansion with the pool (left background), one of the owner's relatives has erected what appears to be a prospective hotel:

So what about 2009? Well it's early days yet, but the smart money is on this large area where development has just started:

The rumours in the village are for it to be a pig farm.

The only and extremely tenuous evidence I have for this is a large plastic bag which blew into our garden the other day, an oxymoron of a company name if ever I met one:
