The Oil Palm Railways of North Sumatra

DB 0-6-0 Mayang 8 attacks the steep climb from the mill with a set of empties for the southern end of the system on 30th July 1991. It was late in the afternoon and the return working would have been well after dark. Within a year this line was closed and all oil palm fruits came to the mill by road. (RD)
