Reynold García Mill |

Reynold García Mill lies down a short spur from the main line south of Guareiras. The fleet consists mainly of venerable 2-6-0s from Baldwin and Vulcan Iron Works. Unfortunately traffic is light and the three loading points are all close to the mill, so activity tends to be sporadic with locomotives often found hiding under shady trees around the mill yard. My most interesting experience here was in February 1998, when I was able to demonstrate a partial eclipse of the sun to the locals using a pin hole camera which consisted of a sheet of plain paper with a small hole in it.... Not surprisingly, you won't find any of my pictures in this section! Photographically, by far the most interesting workings are Minaz hoppers to Guareiras via Manguito and the majority of the pictures which follow cover this. |
