Steam in Serbia June 2000 |

Regular correspondent Zoran Veresic reports "DGEG spent ten days in Serbia (1st to 10th June 2000) with 17 working steam locomotives. They visited all steam locations in Serbia plus four days travelling with JZ museum trains with all three JZ locos (01-088, 33-087 & 51-052). Steam situation in Serbia is good. Kostolac is expecting UNNRA no. 13 from repair factory and UNNRA no 9,10 & 12 are in working condition. No 14 is in use as a stationary boiler.
In Cuprija sugar factory, O&K loco 48-85 was working for the group, this year loco will not working in the factory because of low level of work. In Jagodina, two steam locos are working (62-364 & 642), steam train is working six time a day as workers train five days a week. Third loco (62-377) will go next mounth for repair at Zrenjanin factory.
In Resavica coal mine, 120-019 is serviceable and now is a reserve loco. 61-023 in Cacak paper factory will have a boiler repair (change tubes) and it will work from September as shunting loco in Cacak. In Vreoci coal mine, all four locos of class 62 are working, Decauville 53-017 is a reserve loco for 900 mm gauge, second Decauville 53-018 is on repair. Third Decauville 53-028 will be a monument at Mokra Gora station. Smederevo vagon factory has two class 62 (American orginal) in working condition (62-073 & 088). 62-088 is fresh repainted few days ago. Fireless loco at Lucani is not working because energy factory is on repair during the summer. During the war piece of bomb hit this loco and made a hole on the works plate, but no other damage. Fireless locos at Loznica are working normally . Sargan Mountain railway got a second loco - after repair loco "ELZA" is working for tourists in station M. Gora with Skoda 25-27. Next week third loco DD 88/1947 will be delivered for second line at Mokra Gora (gauge 600 mm) with some wagons.
