The Surco Park Railway, Peru

The Surco park railway runs on a loop of approximately 1 km. and is the centrepiece of the park. The first operational loco (below) was a 500 mm gauge 0-4-0T, built 1926 as O&K #11294, formerly used by the sugar mill at Chaclayo. Thanks are due to Mayor Carlos D'Argent (seen here).

As of December 2004, the train was operating on Thursdays and Fridays in the late afternoon (16.00 to 17.30) and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11.00 to 17:30. At that time the second locomotive, 'Micaela' was operational.
