Relics of the Classic Hedjaz Railway in Saudi Arabia, 2024/5 - Part 6

Thomas Kautzor writes of his visit between 3rd and 5th May 2024 and a further 4 day visit in December 2025 (parts 6 and 7).

The pictures on this page come from Thomas's 2025 visit and were taken between km 692 and km 980. Some of these places were also visited in 2024 and there are appropriate links where that is the case.

The DHP 0-6-0T at Tabuk (km 692, see Part 1) has the N°. 873 stamped on one the motion parts, so might in fact be DHP No. 102 (101-108 were Tubize 872-879 of 1893).

Tabuk (km 692)

Al Mustabaghah (km 753)

Al Akhdar Tunnel (km 756) - also Part 2.

Al-Athib (km 973)

Al Ula station (km 983 see also Part 2), as well as the five stations north and the five stations south of it, have recently been outfitted with explanatory plaques in both Arabic and English.
