Tiger Steam - Thailand

Undoubtedly the top notch locomotives in Thailand were the later Pacifics. Almost inevitably they were kept immaculately and were used on express trains in the south of the country well into the 1970s. Exceptionally 828 has a rather scruffy front end as it climbs towards the tunnel and the summit at Chong Khao south of Thung Song en route from Haadyai in June 1974. (BR)
