Japanese Mogul 737 at work on the 'Death Railway' at Khao Din, east of Kanchanaburi in October 1971. For many years this line was a quiet backwater of Thai railways, but by 2000 it carried a thriving trade of local and foreign tourists. The temple behind is of typical modern design. (BR)
