Some way to the north of Si Racha is
Chonburi. An article in the Continental Railway Journal (in 1996)
suggests that the Srimaharacha Timber Company may have had a
northern outpost at Nongchak near here, which may have worked in
some way with the Chonburi Sugar Mill. The latter is known to have
had four Henschel 0-6-0T of the same vintage (and number series) as
15 and 16 at Si Racha. At some stage the track was pulled up and
rail working abandoned. There are two (extra) unidentified Henschel
locomotives at the dump at Si Racha, probably from here.
105 (29582/1956) was subsequently
bought for preservation in the UK where it is now 105 SIAM on the
Bredgar and Wormshill Railway. 106 was also brought to the UK but no
further details are known. 103 (25427/1956) and 104 (29583/1956)
were taken to Queensland, Australia.
