Historically, the major shed in the Victoria Falls area had been Livingstone. However, after independence the Zambian part of the former Rhodesia Railways was rapidly dieselised and with UDI the cross-border traffic declined. Hence in August 1968, Basil Roberts found little steam activity here. (BR)
