Between 1890 and 1923, Mombasa was crisscrossed by a push trolley line. The trolleys carried goods or passengers from one side of the island to the other. A number of branch lines connected the town to Government House, the Sports Club and Post Office. This trolley is outside Fort Jesus in 1897. (KP Collection) |
