Safari Steam North

With a low running number within its class 5903 was named after one of the higher mountains in East Africa, 'Mount Meru', 14979 feet, north of Arusha in Tanzania. Here it is hauling the evening passenger train for Mombasas out of Nairobi in the 1960s. (KP Collection)
