The TEFS group in September 1981 had to arrange a number of special workings at short notice as the service trains were unable to operate at anything like the times shown in the timetable. This is English Electric 1055 (of 1969) at the head of a mixed train south to Sennar Junction which arrived a mere five hours late. (JA)
