Safari Steam North

The branch from Konza to Magadi was built to exploit the soda (and salt deposits) in the Rift Valley's Lake Magadi. It was very hot (and dry) and steam vanished from this part of the system long before I arrived. This was the Magadi Soda Company's 4 wheel Ruston diesel on 19th December 1980. (RD)
