Despite the break-up of the East African Federation a while earlier, 7107 was turned out ex-works on 9th January 1981 with the old livery and crest applied. This small class of 10 1-Bo-Bo-1 diesels were built by English Electric in 1987 as light weight, smaller versions of the earlier 87 class. (RD)
