On 21st July 1979, we had only been in Kenya for a week or two but literally there was no time to waste with dieselisation imminent. We spent a lot of money to stay in a nearby game lodge and caught 6013 breasting the climb at Taita. It was the first time I had ever seen a Beyer-Garratt at work. (RD)
