While the 31 class could go anywhere in the area, the 29 class were restricted to the main line to Nakuru. 2924 and 3145 'Tsoto' (out of the picture) were working the Fort Ternan pick up on 15th October 1979, the local people were delighted to get some hot water, a luxury which would not be available for much longer.
