Freight and passenger traffic to Kisumu required the large 13 class. With the end not far away 1313 was still well presented as it shunted oil tankers on 12th November 1979. The nearby Kisumu Hotel allowed us to camp in its grounds and provided crested cranes as both guards and alarm clocks. (RD)
