Garratts were needed for service on this section as parts beyond the coastal plains climbed at gradients of up to 1 in 33. Stylish 555 was a Krupp product (2497/1954) outside the shed at Luanda in May 1970. By now Garratt activity was much reduced and the locomotive appeared not to be in use. (BR)
