The oldest Garratts on the system were the 10A class represented by 303 on Nova Lisboa shed. This view clearly shows the unusual Lentz Poppett valves and conventional Walschaerts valve gear carried by these locomotives, a feature that was not perpetuated in later designs. (BR)
