In the years I have been attending this rally, Marshall portable 79936 has been a fixture in the corner of the steam section. This year a chance remark brought the sad news that after over 50 years exhibiting this engine, the owner, Ted Jones, had passed away. His son had still brought the engine along but he had also brought a board to which were attached numerous pictures taken through the years to illustrate how his father had been totally fascinated by 'steam':
