Malpas Yesteryear Rally (6th - 7th September, 2014)

Until late in the week, the weather forecast had not been encouraging but a sudden change for the better saw a late decision to travel which meant paying 20% more than usual for a car. After which it was a question of juggling South Molton (Saturday) and Malpas (Sunday), a final decision of the order only being made at 07.00 on Saturday - their being equidistant from home was a great help. In the end we got it right... As expected, many of the 'Onslow Park engines' were in attendance but I have to say that Malpas is our kind of show, big enough with sufficient variety to maintain interest through the day without being overwhelmed. We're off to Old Warden next weekend, we'll love it but by the end I at least will be exhausted. We had a family visit to make in the morning which meant I had an excuse to stay to the end, by which time the light was excellent.
