Marcle Steam Rally (19th - 20th July, 2014)

Exactly one year ago I inveigled Yuehong and two of her friends into attending the Marcle Rally as part of their introduction to British culture. They were 'over the moon' at what they found and we went back the next day for more. Since when we have broken the bank (almost) to attend a total of 20 such events which I have described on these pages.
This was the 25th Marcle Show and I recorded no less than 32 engines, alas the Saturday was a near wash out and it seems the prospect of wading through the mud kept many punters away on the Sunday. In practice the showground dried out nicely and the only casualty of the inclement weather was the steam ploughing where access would have been across a narrow bridge which was deemed unsafe as it was covered in mud. There was more cloud than sun, but enough of the latter to get a nice set of pictures.
This year Marcle did not produce a rally programme, I have to say that after 2013's effort it was not missed.
