Showman's Engines

The Showman's engine line up at the GDSF is second to none and this year it returned to its normal size with just under 50 on show, with most in a traditional single line. We had quite a long day on Thursday when I took full advantage of late sunshine.

Not including one engine waiting for a complete makeover, this year there were double the number of new showman's engines for me compared with 2019, namely two. However, it was made memorable by the presence of the four Fowler Super Lions, albeit one of them 'Onward' is essentially a replica. Here they are lined up in the late evening sunshine, in the foreground is the 'rare beast' - King Carnival II. Much patience was needed to get the clear view!
