Raj Steam - Nepal

Eventually it was time to leave and the visitors were distributed between the front buffer beam and the cab - the latter providing the more interesting photographic possibilities. In these days of steam charters that require a bank loan, it is as well to remember that the day's outing cost nothing more than basic politeness, the cost of a letter requesting a favour which was gladly granted In those long gone days, railwaymen all over the world were just so happy to offer hospitality to enthusiasts who had come thousands of miles to see their operation.
