Raj Steam - Futwa Islampur Light Railway

The railway was dying, it closed within the next two years. Why passengers would pay more to travel on the bus than they would have done had they condescended to pay on the train remains a mystery to me. It was quicker but scarcely more comfortable on the appalling roads. (PM)
