PNKA Power Parade Gold

50 years ago, in 1974, the Continental Railway Circle, (CRC) based in London published its first book, the author was well known steam enthusiast Anthony Edward 'Dusty' Durrant. It ran to 100 pages and despite a second printing it is now considered a collector's item. The above scene with CC5020, B5213 and C2805 lined up outside the shed at Purwokerto, Central Java in October 1971 was used as its preface. At the top of the picture can be seen the brooding shape of the volcano, Gunung Slamet, at 3430 metres, it is the second highest peak on the island and I am proud to say that I climbed it in 1998 to celebrate my 50th birthday (BR).
